The esteemed stroke clinician and researcher Jose Romano, M.D., has been named chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Romano joined the Miller School faculty in 1997. His commitment to patient-centered care resulted in him serving in a number of capacities, including Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs for neurology and interim chief of service for the Jackson Health System. After the passing of Dr. Ralph Sacco he was named as the department’s interim chair in January 2023.
